Was looking at pictures and videos from the trip I took with my oldest son September of 2016. Thought you might like to check out some elephants cruising past our tented room at Ruckomechi Camp in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe.
The long dry winter in Southern Africa, April through October, is prime time for wildlife viewing… especially August, September, and October in Zimbabwe!
Ruckomechi Camp is one of my favorite spots in all of Africa… hands down! There are no fences so wildlife can be found day and night – all around camp… lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo… the usual suspects.
Newly rebuilt is has only 10 rooms each with comfy beds, en suite bathrooms with hot / cold running water, toilet and rain shower, and outside sitting area… the camp is right on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Little Ruckomechi, which has just been completed, is located a few minutes away on the site of the original Ruckomechi Camp.
During high season this place runs US $995 per person per night all inclusive – all meals, drinks, room, park fees, and guided activities which include wildlife viewing drives, professionally guided walks, boating, canoeing, and fishing for Tiger!
If you get the chance – go! It is SO worth it! One of the coolest places to visit in Africa…
